An HTTP 200 delivery to an edge proxy does not mean your background worker provisioned the customer. OutcomeReplay monitors outcome contracts, catches silent pipeline dropouts, and enables targeted, idempotent replay without duplicate side-effects.
Simulate a real-world incident: Stripe emits subscription upgrade, edge proxy returns 200 OK, background queue silently crashes, and OutcomeReplay detects and repairs the state.
How Outcome Contracts Work
Define what business outcome an event was supposed to produce. OutcomeReplay verifies the contract automatically.
Queues take time. OutcomeReplay suppresses alerts during the declared grace window.
contract:
eventType: subscription.updated
gracePeriodSeconds: 30
retryCheckInterval: 5s
Scoped GET assertion checking if customer record matches the event payload.
outcomeProbe:
url: /v1/customers/:id/tier
expect:
tier: event.data.plan_id
active: true
Dispatches replay with durable Idempotency-Key headers to prevent double-billing.
repairTarget:
endpoint: /v1/entitlements/reconcile
idempotencyHeader: Idempotency-Key
timeoutRecovery: probe_first
Billed per Monitored Integration Pipeline
Eliminate hours of support triage and prevent customer churn caused by silent webhook dropouts.
Audit your Stripe/webhook pipeline, configure contracts, and benchmark silent dropout rates.
Continuous reconciliation and Discrepancy Mismatch Inbox for engineering & support teams.
For high-volume SaaS platforms handling millions of billing and integration webhooks.
Unlike blind webhook gateways that simply resend raw HTTP payloads, OutcomeReplay checks declared target idempotency contracts first. Replays are dispatched with deterministic Idempotency-Key headers. If a target doesn't declare idempotency support, automatic repair is strictly disabled.
OutcomeReplay treats timeouts as unknown states. Rather than blindly retrying, it executes an immediate outcome probe using the same idempotency key to inspect whether the target actually processed the record before deciding whether to retry.
If a customer downgrades to Plan A, and a delayed Plan B upgrade event arrives minutes later, replaying Plan B would overwrite the customer's intended state. OutcomeReplay checks the object's version/timestamp and marks outdated events as SUPERSEDED, preventing stale overwrites.
